iBooks Now on Macs with OS 10 Mavericks

With the release of OS X Mavericks (10.9), users can now access their whole publications collection on their Mac. With the release of OS X Mavericks (10.9), users can now access their whole publications collection on their Mac. This includes multi-touch iBooks™, Epubs-based ebooks and even PDFs.

This is a great opportunity for iBooks developers because multi-touch iBooks were only available for iPads. The market for iBooks will greatly expand now since not everyone has an iPad, but many do have a Mac.

If the iBooks app follows iTunes, I suspect there will be a Windows version in the near future, and then iBooks will finally become mainstream.
